Jennifer Hudson, nascida Jennifer Kate Hudson-Otunga (Chicago, 12/09/1981) é uma cantora e atriz norte-americana influenciada por Whitney Houston, vencedora dos prêmio Globo de Ouro e Oscar de melhor atriz coadjuvante/secundária por sua atuação no filme Dreamgirls: Em Busca de um Sonho (adaptação cinematográfica do premiado musical da Broadway Dreamgirls, ao lado de Beyoncé). Foi aclamada por críticos de cinema do mundo todo ganhando prêmios importantes da indústria. Tornou-se conhecida pelo público ao participar da terceira temporada do reality show de competição da FOX American Idol (ficou em 7º lugar). Antes de sua participação no American Idol, trabalhou como cantora e atriz em navios de cruzeiro. Hudson foi a 1ª cantora afro-americana ser capa da revista Vogue, na edição lançada em março de 2007 nos EUA.
